Rest Is Not Laziness
Rest often gets a bad reputation, doesn’t it? In our busy culture, pausing can feel like falling behind. But Jesus modeled rest. Mark 6:31 records Him saying to His disciples: “Come away by yourselves to a desolate place and rest a while.” Even in the midst of ministry, He paused. He knew that true strength comes from time spent with God, not endless doing.
Rest isn’t laziness. It’s preparation. It’s nourishment. It’s an opportunity to reconnect with the One who sustains us. When we rest, we are not wasting time — we are aligning our hearts with His, opening space for His Spirit to work.
This week, try to embrace rest as a gift, not a guilt. Take a walk, read Scripture without hurry, or simply sit quietly with God. Let Him remind you that your value isn’t measured by your output, but by being His child.
Reflection Thought:How can you practice rest this week in a way that connects you more deeply to God, rather than just taking a break from tasks?
Please share. Someone might just need this today
