Trusting God's Timing
Waiting is one of life's hardest disciplines. We live in a world built for speed — instant messages, same-day delivery, on-demand everything. So when God asks us to wait, it feels almost countercultural. We want answers now, a breakthrough today, and provision immediately. And yet, time and again, Scripture reveals that God's timeline rarely matches ours. Here's the good news: that's not a flaw in the plan. It is the plan.
The Gift Hidden in the Wait
What if the waiting isn't the obstacle to your destiny — what if it is part of your destiny? God is not slow. He is not forgetful. He is not indifferent to your prayers. He is purposeful. And in His purposefulness, He uses seasons of waiting to do something no overnight miracle could accomplish: He builds the person who will be ready to receive and steward the blessing when it comes.
Character forged in patience outlasts anything built in a hurry. Trust deepened through uncertainty is a foundation that won't crumble when the storms come. The waiting room, as uncomfortable as it is, is also a classroom.
Biblical Proof That Delay Is Not Denial
Abraham received the promise of a son when he was 75 years old. Isaac wasn't born until Abraham was 100. Twenty-five years of holding onto a word from God that hadn't yet materialized. Can you imagine the questions, the doubts, the long nights? And yet, Hebrews 6:15 tells us he "obtained the promise" — not by rushing it, but by patiently enduring.
Joseph's story is even more striking. At 17, he had dreams of greatness. By 30, he stood before Pharaoh as second-in-command of Egypt. But in between? A pit. A slave market. A prison cell. Thirteen years of circumstances that looked like the opposite of his dreams. Yet every painful chapter was preparation — refining his humility, his integrity, and his capacity to lead well under pressure.
Your Wait Is Not Wasted
If you are in a season of waiting today, take heart. God has not forgotten you. Your prayers have not bounced off the ceiling. The silence is not absence — it is preparation.
Ask yourself not just when the promise will come, but who God is making you while you wait. Because the version of you that steps into the breakthrough will need to have been shaped by the journey that led there.
Trust His timing. It has never been wrong.
